From March through to October squad training takes place most nights of the week (see the noticeboard for the timetable) and we race most weekends, usually on Saturdays. Squad rowers must be keen to represent the club in races and be determinated to improve their fitness and rowing technique. Our primary objective is to produce strong crews who can compete well at these events!
We also hold a club rowing night where novices can learn to row before progressing through to the squad rowing and club rowers can enjoy the benefits of a row on our beautiful estuary.
We currently have 4 Gigs - Brabyn built by Brian Nobbs (2010), Petroc (2004), Teazer (1988) and Dasher (1989).
Our Club Aims:
SOCIAL - To be a friendly and inviting club, where members can enjoy both the fitness and social aspects of rowing.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT - To actively encourage as many local children as possible to participate in the sport, and progress through the juniors into the senior crews.
SAFETY - To conduct our rowing (both when training and at events) in the safest manner possible.
FINANCIAL STABILITY - To raise enough money through membership, sponsorship and fundraising events to cover the costs of running the club and updating equipment.
